Point of View GeForce 7600GT

I have a Dimension E520 and I've tried to upgrade the graphics card to the 7600GT.  When the card was installed the screen was fine for 1 sec then it went all green/red lines.  I could see windows running in the background, but it was hardly visible.  When I rebooted the pc nothing shows up on the screen.  I'm running Vista Home Premium 32 bit and I have a 22" monitor.

Has anybody else had this problem with this particular card?  Any help would be appreciated.

Did you plug the card into a spare molex connector running off the Power Supply? The 7600 GT requires extra power to function.

The pci-e x16 7600gt version does not require additional power from the computer's power supply.  An agp version will.

I don't own an E520 and you didn't specify the card if any you replaced with the 7600gt.

Some general areas to check:

Disable on board video through bios (if that's how your machine was delivered).

Run driver cleaner pro and start over with latest drivers from nvidia.

Reseat the card in its pci-e x16 slot.  Check connections between the card and monitor.  Test the monitor on a different computer.

Test the 7600gt in another pc or test another card in your pc.  I'm not familiar with point-of-view brand.  Must be UK marketed product.  Is the brand made by a top tier producer or is it an "el-cheapo" product?

Good Luck

If you bought the card on ebay you may have been scammed.
