Precision 690, where is the cpu fan connector on the motherboard??

I disconnected the cpu fan from my motherboard and cannot find where to plug it back in?
Sounds silly but I have literally scoured every inch of the motherboard and can find no suitable connector.

There is a four pin that it can plug into but that is labeled Aux Led, and the fan does not engage when plugged into that...

thanks.

Precision 690 motherboard layout on page 6 in the manual. :emotion-5:

I already checked that. it's not listed there.

I think some precision 690's came with a different fan config than mine.

online images shows them with two large aluminum heatsinks,

mine has one large heatsink, and another small one with a fan on it.

that fan is what i need a connector for..

Are you looking for the memory fan connector (on the outer edge of the mainboard past the CPUs)?

Maybe it was plugged into an adapter, not on the mobo?

no, my 690 has 2 xeon cpu's. one has a tall passively cooled aluminum heatsink.

and the other has a short copper heatsink with an intel fan on top.

that fan is the one i'm trying to get to turn on, because I cannot find where its power plugs into...

I can't find any adapter coming out of the psu either..

I'm hoping someone can help me with this?

precision 690

cpu 1 has a fan directly attached to it, unlike most 690's with 2 passively cooled heatsinks.

i can't find where that fan plugs into.

thanks.

There's no mention of a CPU fan in any of the docs, so your guess is as good as anyone else's.

Did the PC come that way or did somebody mod it with a new heat sink and extra fan?

Are you sure that  fan was actually connected somewhere or was its cable just laying on top of the motherboard?

Could there be a Y-splitter on one of the other (fan) cables where this one was connected? And exactly what does the connector look like?

# 4 is called the Front Fan

#5 is called the Card Fan.
