Problem with OptiPlex GX620 and Belkin USB KVM
I'm having a problem with my USB mouse disappearing when I switch between my OptiPlex GX620 and another computer. Here's the scenario.
1st computer: OptiPlex GX620 Ultra Small Form Factor case
2nd computer: Latitude D610 in a D/Port
3rd computer: various (I've tried an OptiPlex GX60 and a GX260)
KVM: Belkin OmniView 4-port USB (model F1DS104U)
Mouse: Logitech MX518 USB
Keyboard: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 USB
When switching between my GX620 and other computers connected to my KVM, the USB mouse will sometimes disappear from my GX620. They keyboard will still work and I typically use the keyboard to close all my applications and initiate a shutdown. However, my GX620 will hang during shutdown and I have to hold the power button down for 4 seconds to turn it off. I have also tried unplugged the USB mouse from the KVM and plugging it in directly to the GX620. It seems that once the mouse disappears from the system, the GX620 no longer recognizes any new USB peripherals.
At first I suspected the Belkin KVM and had Belkin replace it under warranty. However, the new KVM didn't solve the problem. I have also updated the firmware on my GX620 from A06 to A07. Also, I do not have either the Logitech or Microsoft software loaded for the mouse or keyboard.
Has anyone else run into this problem? I currently only have one GX620 to test with. I'm hoping to buy more GX620 systems for my company but I'm a little reluctant until I resolve the KVM problem. Many of our technical people have multiple computers at their desks and rely on a KVM to switch between those computers.

Putting a powered USB 1.1 hub inbetween seems to fix the issue.
