QX9650 Overclock on 630i

I have the latest bios (1.0.13) and the CPU works great.  The issue I have is despite being an unlocked CPU I am unable to adjust the multiplier.  The default is 9 and changing it in the bios or using ESA does nothing.

Has anyone successfully OC'd a qx9650?

After reading through the list of issues with the 630i I saw this...

Q9450/Q9550/Q9650(?) processors cannot be overclocked via the Dell motherboard BIOS

I can only assume the qx9650 is no different.  Bummer.

Unfortunately that's where I came from... The problem was mentioned in a thread over there but no solution was discovered.

I would look HERE for some overclocking suggestions for this system.

Where it is mentioned. It is stated that QX can be overclocked since it is unlocked. Next check Inspiron 570 upgrade guide (still in progress) overclocking section - another thing to do prior to overclock, do clean install of Operative System not using Dell supplied one, and do not install Dell software,

I believe you are correct.  The only way to overclock it is apparently to use Nvidia's ESA control software as it cannot be done through the bios.

I am completely and definitely correct with AMD processors across Dell models, it was not tested with Intel yet, but most likely it will work, if you decide to try, pleases post results back, so we can learn another thing!
