Removing old graphics drivers in BIOS.. ?

Got my GeForce 6600 GT PCI Express card. Of course, I'll need to disable/remove my old graphics for the new one to work properly. So, I went to Control Panel-> System-> Hardware-> Device Manager and disabled the Intel Integrated Graphics. Seems that wasn't enough, as when I enabled my new card... I got the black screen.

I've talked to others, and they say it's because what I did was not enough, I need to disable from the BIOS. I've hit F2 as my Dimension 4700 was booting up, entering what I believe is my BIOS menu... but I see no options to disable integrated graphics. The only thing in Video Options is a choice between "Auto" and "Onboard", which of course.. is on Auto.

Am I missing something?

Can I presume you installed the drivers for the nvidia card? And did you move the monitor cable from the onboard connection to the new video card?

All done. I believe the only thing I needed to do in BIOS was insure the video option was on "Auto". I've tried different Nvidia drivers, new and old (after clearing the previous ones, of course) and I'm still getting a black screen. I have only three conclusions.

1. This card (Manufactured by Asus) is incompatible with Dim4700, I'll need to buy another 6600GT.
2. The Dim4700 PSU is too weak. From other forums I've read, even people with working 6600GTs have their cards burn out in a few months.
3. I'll just have to buy a lower grade card, such as the Radeon X300.

Uninstall the card and drivers and go back to onboard graphics to make sure you didn't zap something during the upgrade process. If that works, carefully reinstall the card in in the slot, making sure it's firmly seated and then install the drivers, etc. If it still doesn't work, maybe it's just a bum card. Contact the vendor for a replacement and try again.

And make sure you follow the instructions about which to install first, video card or drivers.
