Restarted my computer and now everything is bigger and pyschedelic

I was working on my computer and it sort of froze up (which it never does).  I hit the restart button and when it came back all the colors were blurred and psychedelic-looking.  Not only that but now everything is magnified.  Like on a Word document you can increase the size to 200% or something, well that's what my screen shows for everything.

I've fiddled around in the setting department but I find nothing to address this.  I know it's not a setting because there are lines of blurriness running up and down the screen.  Turning off the computer and then back did not change it.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like the video drivers are not loaded. If this is windows XP, I'd try a system restore. Start, RUN, MSCONFIG, OK, CLick system restore button. Use a restore point before the problem started.

Thanks for the idea - we followed your directions to restore the system but we still have the same problem.  We had to choose a system restore date and we did it twice - once with yesterday as the date and one with the day before.  (They were both "bold" dates - it told us to choose a bold date).  Did we do something wrong, or do you have any other ideas?

Thanks again.

Try the following:

In CONTROL PANEL, select DISPLAY

In DISPLAY  select the APPEARANCE tab

under SCHEME select WINDOWS STANDARD

We ran the "Drivers and Utilities" disk and that fixed it.
