SQL server icon shows up in system tray for no apparent reason

I recently noticed that the SQL server icon is active in the system tray.  I can't think of anything I've done that may have caused this and am concerned it may have been caused by a virus or some sort of malware.  Can anyone give me information on this?  I'm not sure what it's used for so I'm hesitant to just exit the program.

Open it, see if it has options for 'run on demand' or 'run at startup', set to 'on demand'.  At least that way if you're not actually using it, it's consuming no resources.  Now, with no other programs running, R-click it and exit.  If it pops back up in association with use of another program, then you'll know what's using it.

Some applications require a SQL client on the system to run. They usually have some sort of database involved.

Thank you both very much.  I can see now that an application I recently installed is using it.  I'm just glad to know it's something I did :smileyhappy:
