Some questions about Optiplex 390

My friend gave me this pc and im trying to maybe do a few upgrades

I saw on this forum a post about the max ram for this pc, it says in documents 8gb total 4gb each stick but people tried 8gb in each slot and got it to register the full 16gb, I seem to be having a problem doing this I have 2 8gb pieces in there and only registering 8gb total the ram im using is g.skill ripjaws x ddr3-1600 pc3-12800. I would really like to get this thing going with 16gb of ram.

Another question is I have a GTX 560 video card laying around, would I be able to use this in this machine?

Thanks for your help

You cant use High density ram.

You cant use a GX560 if its too long and you cant use the stock power supply cuz its too small.

Getting the power adapters in after is impossible imho but you can plug them up BEFORE inserting and then carefully put the card in.

8.6 aka 9 inch cards are a VERY TIGHT FIT.  10 inch Cards are IMPOSSIBLE as are 12 inch cards.

Can you recommend a video card and 16gb set of ram?
