Stock cooler replacement for Dell T3500 Precision
Hi everyone...
I have a T3500 with a Xeon W3690 and the stock cooler...
I'm idling on the mid 30s but at 100% the temperature hits mid 80s and even 90s...
I have read a lot about this problem and the closest case to me was that it was a bad heatsink...
So my Question is ...
1 Can I water cool the T3500 ?, as I heard that there was failures and errors when replacing the stock coolers...
2 How can I install a water cooler on T3500 ?, as it has two 5-pin motherboard cpu fan sockets , and most coolers are either 4 pin or 3 pin, and the water cooler that I'm looking forward to get (Cooler Master Seidon 120V) has two plugs, one 4-pin and the other is 3-pin...
Please anyone's help is much appreciated...

The fans are not attached to the heatsink. No idea why you want water (short out your motherboard ) cooling. Most liquid cooling systems eventually leak and cause permanent damage.
The stock Aluminum cooler can be replaced with copper heat-pipe unit. The HWMonitor software does not accurately depict the temperature of the CPU. You have to use a meter with temp probe.
And there is the performance heatsink that seems to be for CPU's with a higher Temps. U106F

I have that performance heatsink...
It does nothing
I suspect it to be the problem...
and I don't know who says that all water coolers leak...
they are widely used all over the world and the leakage problems are rare...
on the other hand the T3500 has no enough space for a high performance air cooler like the legendary hyper 212 or so...
It will be Ugly if I installed such an air cooler and left the case opened...
I have chosen water cooling because of the space limitations...
