T5400 hard drive/RAID question

Wondering if the T5400 (running latest BIOS) will support a 3TB drive? cant seem to find anything online or on the forums?

Then second question, is assuming that it supports 3TB drives, can the T5400 do a RAID5 array with 3 x 3TB hard drives.

The last question (pushing my luck I know) is it does not appear that the RAID controller on the t5400 supports a "hot spare" in a RAID5 configuration. Is that correct? Ideally I would like to put 4 x 3TB drives in this beast and configure the 4th as a hot spare.

Thank you in advance!

The largest we validated were 1TB drives. You can have three of those internally.
- Integrated SATA 3.0Gb/s controller (Intel Chipset) supports host based RAID 0, 1, and 5
- Optional PERC 6/i PCI-E SAS/SATA hardware RAID card supports RAID 0, 1, and 5
- Optional SAS 6/iR PCI-E SAS card supports host based RAID 0 and 1

This isn't a T5400, but on the T7500, the onboard ICH10 (SATA) ports support 3TB Hitachi (7200 and 5400rpm) drives just fine. However, the onboard SAS controller will only recognize the first 2 TB on a 3TB disk.

So, your SATA ports may support >2TB disks, but it's unlikely that the SAS card will recognize more than 2TB (if you purchased the optional added SAS controller).
