USB and VGA connections not working
I bought an Insiron 560 2 1/2 years ago new from Dell (warranty expired). I set it up, made sure it worked OK and then put it away as a spare or for someone else in the family if needed. Just pulled it out today for the first time. The computer powers on. But the USB keyboard and USB optical mouse don't respond. (The chime you usually hear when connecting USB does not sound.) Nor does the optical mouse light up nor do the keyboard indicator lights for caps lock, etc. light up. I tried every one of the USB ports on the computer. These devices work OK on my other computer. In addition the VGA monitor says there is no signal from the computer. It has an automatic detect and also a manual selection for VGA. It is the same monitor and cable I'm typing this post on but with my other computer. I can't use Dell's online diagnostics because I have no monitor signal. Any ideas other than taking it out for repair?

Hi kblaine,
I’d suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check for issue resolution.
Also, I suggest you reseat a few components, like memory, hard drive, optical drive, wireless cards and see if that make a difference. You may refer to manual in the link below for removing and reseating of components.
