Video card warranty question.

Hello, I currently have a Next Business Day Onsite warranty and a Parts Only Service warranty. If i was to switch my XPS video card with a new one. Will I still be covered on warranty for the rest of my computer such as in a case of hardware failure or will the terms be breached. Thank you ahead for your answers.

Your system will be covered but any changes to the original config will not be covered.

Hi,

Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.

Parts purchased from Dell Spare Parts as "new" and that are installed in or connected to a Dell system take on the warranty of the Dell system or the remainder of the 1-year limited warranty, whichever is greater.

my suggestion is keep your original graphics card until your warranty expires.

after your warranty expires, then sell it on eBay for $20 to $40 or transplant it into another low-end system.

I sold one GT 635 eBay and installed another into in-law's inspiron 660 and it gave that system a little boost.
