Which RADEON X300 SE Driver Update?

I have the ATI 128 MB PCI-Express x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) Readeon X300 SE and I am looking to update the drivers.

support.dell.ca has the following updates:

Driver: 10/19/2004

Utilities: 09/22/2004
ATI 128MB PCI-Express x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) Radeon X300 SE, v.CPOnly-040713a-016867E, A01

ATI has the following update:
Driver: 11/12/04 Version 6.14.10.6490
Control Panel: 11/12/04 Version: 6.14.10.5131

Should I use the dell one or the ATI one? It looks like in both cases, the first one updates the driver only and the second the control panel stuff, but the versions on the drivers are different and I am not sure which to install.

SkiPiggy,

I would use the ATI version that you can find at http://www.atitech.ca/support/driver.html.  I have an X800 XT PCI-e card and I just download and install the drivers and control panel files.  I don't install the WDM drivers or the Catalyst control panel.

I would use omega drivers personally which is what i am using and get exceptional performance from my x300 se. I have tried catalyst and I run faster with omega drivers. I also suggest using ati tool to overclock your vpu x300 is weak and needs overclocking to perform at maximum level.

Be aware that if you overclock the card, you void the warrenty and pottentially shorten it's life. Of course with a Radeon x300se, I'm not sure we're that worried about the health of the card :D

Personally it's not something I choose to do.

Im deffinately not to concerned with my x300. I want the most out of it until i get my x800xt. Im sure I will over clock it also though not to the degree I have the x300 and probably only to benchmark.
