Windows XP install on T3400 With Raid 1

I am trying to install Windows Xp on a brand new T3400. I install the Intel RAID drivers(Downloaded from Intel) by hitting the F6 in Windows setup and I install the Dell Sata drivers but everytime it goes to start Windows setup I get a stop error. It will install just fine with RAID turned off so it has to be related to that. Are there any other drivers I need to load off floppy to get Windows to complete the install? Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to deliver this system to the user without RAID configured.

You were a bit quick for me.  Did you note my edit on the drivers?

Yes, RAID was configured. Two 150 GB HD's configured for RAID 1 mirror. If I delete the raid volume Windows installs fine. With RAID turned on in any configuration I get the issue stated above.

I'm only guessing, but I suspect you didn't set the machine up for RAID.  Even if you have only one drive, but you are using the AHCI interface, it's helpful to have the RAID ROM set up.  You will find helpful information on setting up for RAID in the T3400 User's Guide.

Before you try installing the RAID drivers into Windows you need to have a RAID, and for that you need to go into the Option ROM for RAID, usually CTRL and i at the same time on a start-up ( but read the guide to be sure ) to set up the array.

Incidentally, I suspect you are not a novice at this so i apologize in advance if you have already accomplished this.

One other thought:  The Dell driver's page lists two types of potential RAIDs.  Sure you're using the right one?

What I was originally thinking is that you had the optional SAS bus rather than SATA; that's a different driver set I think.  Is there a number to go with STOP?

After it loads the driver and finishes the DOS based portion of the Windows setup and it displays STARTING WINDOWS for the GUI based portion of the setup that is where it blue screens with the STOP error. I don't know what I could be missing.

The page shows only one type. There is the driver and the firmware update. I also went to the Intel site and downloaded theirs as well with no luck. Thank you.

Is your CD drive a USB  drive by chance?  The only thing Microsoft seems to have on this error is here:  KB 839210

Oops; found another, more general approach:  KB 324103
