X-Fi Audio Processor (WDM) vs. Audio card
Hi,
I was using my Dell Support Center software, and it says that my sound device is a Creative X-Fi Audio Processor. Does that mean it is an actual discreet card? Or do I have to look online for an official system certified audio card upgrade from Dell that won't void my warranty regarding the audio component of my system?
Thanks!

I'm almost certain I don't have an X-Fi ExtremeGamer card in my XPS 720. Will those drivers still work with my system even if that isn't the card I have?
Thx.

Hi,
I have an XPS 720 system with XP MCE on it. I purchased it in September of 2007 with the Q6600 processor, 2GB of RAM and I know (or at least I thought) I'd selected the option to purchase the X-Fi (of some sort) audio card for it.

Hi,
Don't know if I bought mine with Extrememusic or not, but the Extremegamer driver did indeed install without a hitch and it said in the FAQ that it could be used with all X-Fi cards except the X-Fi Audiopro (or something like that). Sadly, it did nothing to resolve the known bug between Creative drivers and Vegas 2 for PC.
