XPS 8700, Low audio from S2415H?

Adjustable volume on monitor is to the max. Audio is low on DVDs, Podcasts, and sample music on computer. When using Windows Media Player problem is the same. How do you suggest I resolve this problem?

Explain in detail how the XPS 8700 is connecting to the S2415H. Every cable, every port.

A male HDMI cable is connected to a female port on the Dell S2415h Monitor. The other end of the HDMI cable is connected to HDMI Female to mini HDMI male adapter. The  Mini HDMI male adapter is connected to the Graphic card mini HDMI  female port on the desktop. Sound is still not loud enough.

Thanks

* Connect a male to male mini RCA cable from the computer sound card green audio out jack to the S2415H audio Line-In port
* Re-test
* Then, purchase and test a straight mini HDMI to HDMI cable
