RE: XPS 8910, Sleep Function, Enable USB Wake Support in the BIOS

I have similar problem where my dell inspiron 3650 desktops (3 of them) don't wake up from sleep via mouse or keyboard input.   When I try hitting the power button (lightly) on the desktop it resets the computer ....

I went into BIOS settings and the "USB wake support" option is not listed.

Next time start a new thread since you have a different PC model.

What version of Windows?

  1. Open Device Manager and expand list under USB.
  2. Double-click a USB root hub and click its Power Management tab
  3. Uncheck the box "Allow PC to turn off..."
  4. Repeat for all USB root hubs
  5. Expand list under Human Interface Devices and uncheck same box for any HID entry with a Power Management tab
  6. Exit Device Manager
  7. Go to the Windows Power options screen
  8. Identify active power plan and click link to change settings
  9. On next screen, click link for Advanced Options
  10. Look for USB settings in list at left and disable USB Selective Suspend
  11. Look for Sleep settings in list and disable Hybrid Sleep
  12. Save the changes to the power plan, if prompted and exit
  13. Reboot

See if that helps...
