as501 Sound Bar Subwoofer??

Just got one of the new sound bars..  Has a subwoofer out...  Does Dell make one for it??

Thanks!

the question, "does dell make" (rather than, "does dell sell") a speaker (excuse me, subwoofer) seems a little funny. Doubtful that dell makes any speakers. Or very much of anything else for that matter.

Now, there's nothing special about a subwoofer...unless you want to pay extra and pay for shipping, you can get an equivalent or better...just hop on down to your local BestBuy, or discount store, anywhere and pick one up. Dell does not dictate what kind of connectors are used...they use standard connectors which are universal. The store can tell you about it.

One question to be concerned about is why the sound bar even has a subwoofer receptable. the as500 precedessor, which sold for much more did not have this. Perhaps the game is to sell a cheaper sound bar (less capable one?) then let customer upgrade by buying the subwoofer? but theres another thing to be concerned about i think

One should be hesitant to place a center speaker (subwoofer) in close proximity to the display and CPU (This seems to be the idea Dell has in mind). The reason is the potential damage or accelerated degradation of electronics that might ensue to the high-vibration environment to which the display and computer will be exposed. Rather, it would be smart to use a long cord and put the woofer as far away as possible. Of course you might not still obtain the center speaker effect you were looking for.

I am desperately trying to locate a subwoofer jack on my AS501. Dell has been unable to help me. Can you kindly tell me where it is located on the speaker bar?

There is no subwoofer in A00 revision, it's in A01. I've just seen both of them at the local Dell distributor.
