The memory will run at 1066MHz because that is all that the motherboard and chipset supports.

Hi,
Optiplex 380 supports 1066MHz DDR3 (Non-Ecc) memory to a maximum of 8 GB (2x4GB). If you install a 1600MHz memory, the system would still run at at 1066Mhz.
