chipmunk sound with audio.
I have a Inspiron 530 Intel core 2/ Quad core processor, 3 GB memory at 800 mHg. . My OS is windows XP PRO. I have Realtek HD integrated audio. My playback sound on music, videos, etc is distorted. Sounds like the treble is too high, maybe. Sounds like the chipmunks are talking. Like old records on a phonograph playing too fast. Anyone have any suggestions on how I fix this problem?
Thanks for your help.

Check the Sound Enhancements, as it sounds like one of them may be enabled. I don't have the Integrated audio but I believe you access that in the Contol Panel/Sounds and Audio devices.
Incorrect sound drivers is another possibility. If you have installed non-Dell drivers (e.g. drivers from the Microsoft Windows downloads) they can cause the problem.

That worked! The sound enhancements were all off. I didn't have any instructions on it and the web site was no help. I played around with the buttons till everything was set right.
Thanks,
