connecting Canon camcorder to computer
My Canon ZR800 digital camcorder manual says to connect to a computer with a DV (IEEE 1394) terminal or a DV capture board, which is commercially available as a 4- pin to 4-pin or a 4-pin to 6- pin DV cable. I have a Dimension E521 computer with Vista. My question is which do I use and where do I connect it to my computer? It seems like a simple question but I cannot find an answer.

You need a "Firewire" port and there is none standard on your PC. You will have to install a PCI Firewire (IEEE 1394) port card, to have the capability.
HERE is an example of a PCI Firewire port card.
