Hi irfanali_amg,
Optiplex 9010 supports DDR 1333MHz and 1600MHz Non ECC 4 DIMM slots (uSFF: 2 DIMM slots)
2GB–32GB (uSFF: 2GB-16GB)
The OptiPlex 9010 system supports up to 32 GB of memory in the mini-tower (MT), desktop (DT), and small form factor (SFF) chassis with 64-bit operating system. The memory speed supported is 1333/1600Mhz DDR3 memory.
However, 32-bit operating systems can only use maximum 4GB memory address space. Certain components within the computer require address space in the 4GB range, any address space reserved for these components cannot be used by computer memory the amount of memory available to the operating system is less than 4GB.
Memory modules should be installed in pairs of matched memory size, speed, and technology. If the memory modules are not installed in matched pairs, the computer will continue to operate, but with a slight reduction in performance.
Memory Configuration:
Memory module should be installed in pairs of matched memory size, speed and technology. If the system memory modules are not installed in matched pairs, the computer will continue to operate, but with a slight reduction in performance. The entire 16GB memory range is available to 64-bit operating systems.
Please refer the picture below to configure memory:
Please reply if you have any further questions.

Low Density Modules are required for INTEL Chipsets. High Density modules may work OR may show up as less than what you expect. Not all ram is compatible. High density RAM devices were designed to be used in registered memory modules for servers. JEDEC standards do not apply to high-density DDR3 RAM in desktop implementations.
DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 PC3-10600
Memory Type: DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 32GB
Slots: 4
How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are running. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and utilize) only 3GB or 3.5GB. To utilize more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS. More information about OS memory maximums can be found here.
Recommended Upgrade
DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.5V • 1024Meg x 64 • • Part #: CT3740131

I have a similar problem and wondered i you could advise what I should do?
Have a Dell Optiplex 9010 small form factor machine running the latest release of Ubuntu with 16 GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 RAM.
I wanted to increase capacity (in the Virtual Box (Windows10)) and run 32GB RAM so purchased 4x8 GB DDR3-1600 matched sticks of RAM, Crucial brand ECC and brand new.
When I load them in the machine and reboot it will not boot. Have tried just 1x8gGB stick. Also will not boot. Boots fine when I replace the previous 4x4GB RAM sticks.
How do I get it to recognise the 32GB of RAM and boot?
Is it possible that it won't recognise ECC RAM and needs non-ECC RAM?
Thank you very much for any advice.

edi1551, I see no mention of ECC not being supported for the Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF on Dell's OptiPlex Memory Compatibility Guide.
What specific Intel processor is in the machine?

edi1551, on the other hand, Dell's OptiPlex 9010 Tech Guidebook explicitly mentions that memory should be non-ECC (see Memory section on page 13). Additionally, the high-end CPU I see for it, the Intel i7-3770, does not support ECC memory.
So, I was say ECC memory in the OptiPlex 9010 would not work.
