dimension 8300 win8 install error memory nx

We're trying to install win8 and it keeps saying we need to restart computer.    We are currently running win7.

Further research suggests we need to change a bios setting for the CPU for NX, but there is no option to do so on this system.     We're on a05.   I see an A07 that I thought we'd try, but it says that I need administrator privilages even though we're signed on as administrator and set the properties of the download to 'run as administrator'.

The next step might be to create a bootable disk with the bios flash except that I don't know if that will help and I don't know how to create one.

Will a07 help me install Win8?

Has anyone successfully installed Win8 on a Dimension 8300?

Thanks in advance for any help.

NX may not be available with your CPU; it may be possible to change the CPU to one that has it. (Some of the old Pentium 4 processors did.)

In the days of the 8300, BIOS updates were typically installed from DOS-booted floppy drives. If your 8300 has a floppy drive, you can format a floppy as DOS-bootable, copy the BIOS update to it, boot from it, and then execute the update.
