drivers for mainboard hardware
I just set up a second hand Dell Dimension V400 (400MHz Pentium II) for a friend, and installed Win98SE on the machine. All works fine except the on-board audio, because Win98SE couldn't find drivers for it on the Win98 installation CD. The DELL downloads page lists drivers for several kinds of audio (which I assume are add-in audio cards), but not for the on-board audio hardware. Also I can't find a user manual for the Dimension V400 on the DELL site. The model category I select to locate the drivers is V___ ('v' followed by 3 underscores) which I assume includes the model V400 (the name molded into the plastic front panel on the PC case). But I don't know if that is a good assumption. Also I enter the service tag# 3E7R7 for the search, which I assume will point me to the correct download links. But when I get there I don't find drivers for the on-board audio nor do I find a user manual. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can find the files I need?
TIA. Bill S.

The users guide for the Dimensin V____ systems are at:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dwill/
According to that document the integrated video is the ATI Rage Pro AGP 2X
and the drivers for that device can be found at:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/type.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_PNT_PII_V___&category=6&os=W98&osl=en&deviceid=156&devlib=6
