gx 110 adding a new hardrive

Question

Hi, I have a gx 110, 20g, 512 ram, ver. A06 bios, running win 2000.  In a recent attempt to add a new hardddrive (40g), recognized in system setup, set to run floppy, cd, then hdd, and to install xp with the disk and cd, i get a message, 'invalid system disk, replace disk and hit any key'.  This would lead you to believe, I have a problem with the floppy and cd.  So I put my old hdd back in, and this all works fine.  So my question is, do you think I should clear bios or update bios to A07, A08, or A09, or all of these updates?   thanks in advance

make sure 40gb is jumpered for cable select and inserted into the cable going to Primary IDE

Reset the NVRAM, and make sure the new hard drive and the CDROM drive are recognised correctly in the bios before booting.  If the same CD boots OK with the original hard drive and same CDROM, then there's a problem caused by the new hard drive jumper settings...Also check the CDROM is jumpered for cable select.

Thanks to everyone who replied.  The problem the whole time was the keyboard.  I had months ago switched keyboards with the kids keyboard on their Acer, and I remembered before I decide to do this, I was in system information making sure I had everything before the upgrade, and remember seeing the keyboard driver wasn't correct, so I put my keyboard back on and I am up and running with a new harddrive and xp.
