multi display dvi + vga quadro fx 1700

Hi,

I have a dell xw6600 using windows 7 ultimate. I'm trying to get dual display working on the quadro fx 1700, one of my monitor is dvi (HP LP2475w) and the other is vga (hercules prophetview) using a vga-to-dvi adaptor. Both monitors are fine and work fine independantly; the LP2475w works fine in either of the quadro's port, the prophetview doesn't work at all for some reason in any configuration but the monitor and everything seems to be working fine just for some reason the vga monitor doesn't like to be run from the quadro fx 1700. is this vga card dvi only? must i set something up in the bios that isn't set by default?

thanks for any help

Will the Hercules monitor run by itself on that 1700 video card via the DVI to VGA adapter?

Hi,

thanks for the suggestion and I just tried it and it doesn't seem to work. i even did a restart on the pc to see if the vga needs reset or something but for some reason, either the dvi-tovga adaptor is broken or the vga doesn't support that monitor, right? unfortunately i can't test the adaptor anywhere since i dont have any more dvi vga cards.

The manual states, "The NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 supports two displays. Two DVI (digital) or two VGA (analog) with a DVI to VGA converter.". So it is either the converter or the video card driver.
