hi mike.No i dont open emails that i don't trust. Thanks for ur help, although i was hoping it would be something alittle easier then that. Im too tired tonight so i will write all that down and try it tomorrow. Thank-you
Uninstall Norton AV (or the whole suite of norton utilities)
Remove your email account(s) [I doubt it will delete your messages because with POP3 accounts it normally downloads them locally)
Maybe reboot....
Then setup your email account(s) with the default POP3 and SMTP server address (provided by your internet service provider) and test your email account before installing Norton
If that works...then install Norton again. It will then see your email account info and enable the autoprotect feature.
Just be careful of the few new messages you recieve---they wont be protected by NAV until it is installed again. Dont worry though-You dont open messages when you dont know where they came from-Right.....
Norton shouldn't cause a problem with outgoing messages. When I have had difficulties with it, I was unable to receive messages. I reset my POP3 server to my ISP's server, received my emails, then reenabled the Norton server.
When you change your name in Accounts, did you change it on both the General and Servers tabs?
