When you say "reboot" do you mean restart your DIM 2400? or do you mean reformat as in hard drive? Did you have the yellow marks for those two adapters before and after the "reboot"?
I'm assuming that you're running WinXP on the 2400?

If you reinstalled XP, did you install the chipset driver immediately after installing Windows? And did you install the correct driver for those other 2 devices?

The drivers you install after the OS installation, need to be installed in a particular order:

If you did not install the drivers in this order it can affect the performance of hardware drivers installed after that. Likely, you'll have to repeat the OS installation process to rectify the problem...

Just download the chipset and install in Safe Mode. Then reboot normally and install the rest of the drivers your system needs.
Video, audio, network, modem, in this order.

Yellow for ethernet, before or after installing the chipset driver? If after installing the chipset, download a fresh copy of the correct ethernet driver for your system and install it after booting normally (eg, not in Safe Mode).
