upgrade c drive toarger one

Hello

I have an optiplex 960 tower with a 80gig c drive and it also has the dell recover partition on it.  Is there a way to upgrade the c drive to a 1tb and keep the recovery partiton intact along with the boot  option for it.

Or do i need to purchase another copy of windows 7 (the key).

Thanks in advance for any help.

The recovery partition is old enough that it's just about useless now - you can make your own recovery image to an external drive.  You can also clone the existing drive to the new one (you'll need a second SATA cable so you can connect both drives to do the job).

The free edition of Macrium Reflect can do both jobs.

I just finished.  I went from a 80gig to a 500gig,  Worked perfectly.  I still get windows boot option to the recovery partition and they seem to be in the same places.  Just one is larger than the other two.
