windows media player 7 crashing

Everytime I download video headlines or news from CNN or other news sourceswith windows media player 7, the screen stops and sends the message, TAPISRV CAUSED INVALID PAGE FAULT IN MODULE32.DLL. Then the screen goes black. My Real palyer works fine in this same situation. Also, windows media player works fine to play back music unless it's downloading from the net. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Bill

Hello-While you're killing time until a Media Player expert comes along, you can look at the Media Player support articles here: MS Support Articles for DV

Hi guys, One quick thing to check is in Media player preferences. Open media Player and click tools/options. Make sure that streaming media is checked. Also, if you have installed this yourself, make certain the codecs have also been downloaded.. You will find them on the program disk or an the downloading utility. You might consider upgrading to media player 7.1. It is a significant improvement. That might solve the problem. There are other things that might be at fault, but give these simple things a try. Oh yes, almost forgot. if you use a firewall, allow media player to be a server.
