110v PC was plugged in 220v
My friend was accidentally plugged his 110v CPU into a 220v . There's no sound or blown was heard, a smoke was just appeared.
He bought the desktop from US and he didn't aware of the volts change over switch in the back.
I just want to know the possible hardware which will help to reboot the system again in 220 V.
Any help in this regard is really very helpful.

What is the computer model?
If it's a desktop, you would at the minimum, need to replace the power supply and keep your fingers crossed that nothing else is fried.

Its a desktop Vostro 200, Slim Tower Intel Pentium DualCore CPU E2200 (2.20GHz 800FSB). Any suggestions for PSU.

The Vostro 200 Slim use a TFX power supply with either a 24-pin, or 20+4-pin main motherboard power connector, similar to the two units shown HERE
You should be able to buy a replacement from Dell, or from a computer store.

Hi i did the same thing in the philippines fogot to switch my power supply to 220 and blew the power supply just go buy another pwr supply make sure its 220 or a switchable voltage on easy to replace with simple screwdriver.

yes you can buy a PSU that has a switch on the back of the PSU you should bring your PSU for best example for the stores that your going so that they can give you the fitted PSU.....
