2305 Inspirion one does not power on
My 2305 inspirion powered off and will not power back on why? I check the power cord and even got another one, When I disconnect the three prog cord from the surge protector and then reconnect it the blue light on the power cord lights up, however when the power cord is plugged back into the computer the light goes off. Any ideas how to power this back up?

Hi Carol,
Please refer to your manual's troubleshooting section (on p 43). Check the section on beep codes and power light indications of hardware problems.

Welcome to the Community. It looks like your motherboard has failed. Please contact Dell Technical Support in your region for a motherboard replacement.

Dont be surprised. I bought mine new in Feb 2011 and the motherboard failed. Had it replaced under warranty then it failed again. So Dell sent me a replacement computer in july 2011. now that one has failed, but guess what "no warranty".. so ... no more Dell for me...
