Inspiron 620 tower issue

Put the 620 into sleep mode as normal. Later tried to boot and got error message that computer cannot start.

Never had this in past 5 years.

Screen is blue with white letters. Conducted tests using f12 and all systems passed. Might this be a software issue? Not sure how to proceed.

Thanks for posting.

Your question can be better answered if you would provide the Operating system and the exact information you are receiving on the blue screen error message.  A screen shot posted to your question would be helpful. Thanks.

The F12 diagnostics just does a quick test of the hard drive. Run it again and select Custom full hard drive test to rule out hard drive failure. That might take hours to run on large hard drives.
