What is this Boot Sequence option in BIOS?

Hi all, when I enter the BIOS setup of my Dell Dimension 8200 and I go to "Boot Sequence" of course I have the usual hard drive, CD/DVD and Floppy boot options, but then there's a 4th option labeled:"IBA 4.1.04 Slot 0238". Does anyone know what that IBA option is? Thanks

Hi,  IBA is Intel Boot Agent, in a nutshell its a feature used to install software from some sort of connection WAN/LAN whatever to a computer that has no optical drive (CD/DVD) or floppy or any other sort of capability to install an OS or software. You can set this to disabled in your boot listing. More info HERE.

Thanks Robin. The Intel link you provided says that one can disable the Intel Boot Agent completely with the Intel® Ethernet Flash Firmware Utility. What's your take on that?

I would leave it enabled on the BIOS, never know when you will need it. The BIOS can be a dangerous area to work in, if you make a mistake, you could end up frying your motherboard.
