color coding on sound card port

what is the purpose of the black, green, pink, blue, and yellow port connectors/jacks on my soundblaster live 5.1 sound card on my dim 4600 windows xp home media center edition? i have the harmon kardon speakers with sub woofer. also, what is the purpose of the 15 pin connector on the same sound card? can i use the separate capped integrated sound ports for anything?
