Problem with installation Dell Wireless 5530 HSPA Mini-Card driver

I tried to install the driver setup (setup.exe) via SCCM on a Windows 7 x64 OS. The installation was canceled with the error message "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package". Under Windows 7 x86 everything works fine with the exact same install command.

Does anybody has an idea or the same problem?

Hi Marco,

Can you provide the R# that you are trying to install and the command line switches you are using?

Thanks,

Warren

Hi Warren

Many thanks for your quick response.

I tried to install R251153 on a Dell Precision M4400 witch the following command line switches:
setup.exe /S /v/qb!

This problem just exist when I install it with System Center Configuration Manager 2007 (SCCM) via the System account.

Thanks,
Marco

We are using R251276 internally for all 5530 installs. Give that a try as it is a slightly newer version of the driver. It isn't listed as a driver for the Precision M4400, but it hasn't given us any problems.

Many thanks for your support!!!!!!! With this driver work everythings pretty good on Windows 7 x86 and Windows 7 x64.

Now I'm verry happy about that. :-)

Best regards,
Marco
