Firmware update with tar firmware file
I have currently have firmware ver 5.0.9 in a tar compressed file. When I uncompress the tar file it extract all the individual upgrade files instead of the one tgz file. Therefore the equallogic SAN doesn't perform the firmware upgrade via the GUI since it's looking for the tgz file.

A kit_V*.tgz is needed. If you have a *.tar you should gezipped it. If you have a account on the eqlsupport portal you should consider to download the version you need.
A "tar"ball is a archiv of a file and directory structure and gzip at the compression at the end. Both programs are available for unix/linux and windows. The gnu version of tar have gzip support included.
