This sounds like an old issue where when replication checks for the version it gets a invalid version message back.
You can restart the array at the DR site that will likely resolve this. However, until you do upgrade the problem could return.
There are so many fixes an improvements since 7.x You could likely also be due some drive firmware upgrades too. Which also requires you to be running newer firmware.
