There were several threads on this issue. Initially I provided incorrect information saying that MEM v1.4 worked with ESXi v6.5. The answer is that is does NOT support it.
MEM v1.5 which is available for download on the EQL support site.
I can't upgrade since I have no support on this storage.
The question is: I need to upgrade to vSphere 6.0 or vSphere 6.5 since vSphere 5.5 is near EOS, and I have firmware 7.1, is there any version of MEM plugin that I can install on my ESXi?
If you don't have a support contract on that unit then you cannot run MEM. The license for all EQL firmware and applications are maintained in the support contract.
MEM is not required for MPIO connectivity to VMware ESXi and EQL storage. I would suggest you use VMware Round Robin instead and configure it to the best practices guide for EQL and VMware ESXi.

Hi,
here
https://eqlsupport.dell.com/support/download.aspx?id=6442454231
I see that MEM 1.5 is supported only from firmware 9.0, are you sure that 8.x is supported?
And what about firmware 7.1 (I know, but I can't upgrqade.........).

Yes MEM v1.5 will work with firmware 8.x.
Re: 7.x Why can't you upgrade? It may work but not qualified.

That guide can be found here:
http://downloads.dell.com/solutions/storage-solution-resources/BestPracticesWithPSseries-VMware%28TR1091%29.pdf
If the choice is 6.0 or 6.5 I would suggest 6.5. There are many improvements over 6.0.
