Hello,

Officially no.  It has not yet been certified for ESXi v6.5.  Also there is an issue installing MEM v1.4 w/ESXi v6.x if you are using Vmware Update Manager.

See this thread for an unofficial workaround or use setup.pl instead.

I would suggest you wait until either MEM v1.4 is re certified for ESXi v6.5 or a new version is released that does.

Hello,

This won't be good news to anyone, but both MEM v1.5 and VSM release is being delayed until July.

Any idea when it wel be recertified for ESXi 6.5? It's been almost 4 months since this answer was posted, and still no official support?

Hello,

An official release date has not been announced yet.  Possibly late spring, early summer.  Best option is to work with your reseller and get an NDA in place to discuss the product roadmap.

It worked for me.

That said it is only a DEV environment and if it crashed I would have moved to round robin.

Hello all,

I need to circle back and update everyone following this thread.

I was incorrect that MEM v1.4 is not supported with ESXi v5.5.  In fact it was certified and is listed in the VMware HCL as well.   So you CAN use MEM v1.4 with ESXi v6.5 w/o issue and fully supported.

HOWEVER, the issue with installing via the Vmware Update Manger (VUM) is still there with vSphere v6.5.  You must install MEM v1.4 via the CLI.

 My apologies  for the confusion.

 Regards,

Don

Hi Donald,

If  we upgrade to esxi 6.5 from 6.0, do we need to re-install the MEM 1.4 module or will it run as expected post-upgrade?

Thanks,

Darryl

Hello Darryl,

You should be just fine in that case.  Moving from ESXi v5.x to 6.x you should remove MEM before upgrading. The code is different between those versions.

Hi Don,

I notice in your post on April 5th that you reference ESXi 5.5, just want to confirm you meant 6.5 right?  I am turning up brand new ESXi hosts this week and would prefer to use 6.5 if fully supported by MEM 1.4.  Just wanted to double check/clarify :-)

Many thanks!

Hello,

You are very welcome!

That post was talking about upgraded from 5.x to 6.x with MEM installed you need to remove it first as the MEM  versions for 5.x and 6.x are different.

Yes, MEM v1.4 will work with ESXi v6.5.  However, you still can't use the VMware Upgrade Manager to do the install or upgrade.  You need to install it from the CLI.
