Compatible PE Servers for connection to PV MD1000

I would like to upgrade our PE 1950 with PERC 6/e attached to one of the split partitions on our MD1000.

What would be the latest (last) generation of PE servers that will allow connection?

Thank You

Hello tprichards,

Here is a link to the support matrix for the MD1000.  ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/powervault-md1000_Service%20Manual_en-us.pdf.  If you look on page 4 it list the latest drivers that are needed to get the card seen in the server.  Also here is the link to the perc6 card.  http://www.dell.com/Learn/us/en/04/campaigns/dell-raid-controllers?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&redirect=1&delphi:gr=true.  If you select the legacy support matrix tab it list all server that are compatible with the card.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Sam,

Sorry but neither one of those links give me a definitive answer as to the actual servers that support the PERC 5/e and 6/e. The link does sound promising though: To see a current list of supported servers reference www.dell.com/perc.

It would be nice if they could simply tell me if PE2950, R300, R410 and so on up until a PE XXXX supports either one of those PERC controllers with the proper drivers.

I guess what I'd really like to know is what is the last generation PE Server that supports a PCI Express controller.

Thanks.
