PS Series Firmware 6.0.1

Has anyone started using 6.0.1 in production yet?  I am leaning towards upgrading to this version, just want to know if anyone is using this version and if any issues have been noticed.

Thanks.

Lanman1204,

I have spoke with a number of customers and even assisted in some of the actual updates to 6.0.1 and everything went smooth. As long as you follow the proper steps in the upgrade process you shouldn't run into any issues. Please let me know if you have any questions or other concerns on the firmware update process.

Ive had no issues at all when upgrading from 5.1.2 to 6.0.1 everything went perfectly smooth.

My last to upgrade 5.1.2 when the group lead went unresponsive, and there wasnt a transition to a new group lead, support manged to fix it up though.

Anyhow.. regarding 6.0.1 everything is perfect., And the new Volume Folders is awesome!

Re: Folders  I agree!!  Awesome having all my ESX volumes organized by environment.  (ESX 3.5. 4.1 and 5.x)

Though I think "Volume undelete/recycle bin" is a huge feature.

I'm using the re-thining/SCSI unmap with Linux/EXT4 filesystem and that works really well.  Haven't tried Server 2012 yet.  That's supposed to be supported.

Yes.  Still a manual process to reclaim space.

Here's a VMware KB on how to run the reclaim process.
