600M Battery Won't Charge Please Help!
My laptop worked fine for about 7 months. Then my laptop started not charging properly. I would have to hold the adapter in place on the laptop so that it would charge while I was using it. At first I would only have to hold it in place a little bit, but it got progressively worse and worse to the point where the adapter would no longer charge the battery at all and my laptop is dead.
I have read other messages and it seems a lot of other people are having this problem. I am not under warranty. According to what I have read this problem is only fixed by dell with a $400 motherboard replacement. This is a ridiculous amount to pay.
I have read that some people have bought external battery chargers. I am wondering if I should buy one of those, or if I should attempt to buy a new warranty from dell and then send it in, or anything else.
Please help me!

The cost you were quoted, and the likely repair, are accurate.

Enj is not as knowledgable as they think. This link will take you to a company that makes several external stand alone chargers. You will have to search for one that is compatible with the part number on your battery. It will be on the top of the battery and will be something similar to P/N 1691P. Just look on this website and find one that matches your battery. Good luck.
