BLACK SCREEN - Dell Latitude E7240

Hello,

I am currently attempting to repair a Dell Latitude E7240, and the screen will not power on, it just stays black, no flashing occurs. I press the power button, the power button stays lit, then just goes off. The only lights that remain turned on are the: Hard Drive Indicator, Battery Indicator (which flashes), and the wireless indicator.

If anyone could assist me with this problem, that would be great.

Thanks!

Hi,

As you mentioned the battery, HD and wifi led stays on, so definitely the machine is on.

Are you able to toggle num or caps lock??

How about on an external monitor??

Regards

You can remove memories and try with one memory at a time, if still the same, then suspecting motherboard to be faulty.

I apologize for the late response. I believe it is a bad motherboard. The laptop is still under warranty so I will request a replacement motherboard.

Thank You,
