BLUE SCREEN WITH IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP:0x0000000A and other 0x values
I can use F12 to get into BIOS but then I don't know what to do. I think the main thing is very low memory so I need to get in to take files off - however it so far has always reverted to the blue screen again - wundows stopped to save computer from damage - it is WIndows XP on Dell laptop
HELP!!! ANy ideas how to proceed
someone said it could be a battery issue - the battery was not taking charge well however i have rested it for a long time and trying that
another thing is the computer won't rest when not in use - I have to turn it off without shutting down .... tho start up is notmal once i resume
The blue screen is the most pressing problem so your advice so welcome - thank you

In the end I took my laptop to a local repairer and he said that windows had got corrupted and he backed up all my data, and reinstalled windows + some replacement apps and so far all is now fine again .....

Also if drive is faulty can i still get files out?

Press F12 at powerup and boot to the Dell diagnostics. Run an extended hard drive test - the drive has likely failed.

all memory stuff is internal THANKS THO ! what i have with diagnostics is error code 0146 2000-0146 uNITt 1 DST

Did full test but nothing came up as a fault beyond the one I posted above. I did phone Dell who were helpful and confirmed what you said ejn63 that it was most likely a drive fault so I have a choice of rebooting it all with reinstalling windows etc with the discs which I do have - or what I will do is apparently I could take it somewhere where I can mirror it with another computer/laptop and create a 2nd drive and take out data which I absolutely have to rescue .... The Dell man said that that could work, but Dell can't go into detail of how because they couldn't guarantee success although it is normally successful. I sincerely hope that will work as I have so much important material therein
