DELL STUDIO 1555 NO DISPLAY WHEN TURNED ON

When i turn on the power button of my Dell studio 1555 the power button led light held constantly (not blinking).. i hear the DVD drive sounds as i turned on ... i hear my fan sound as it is running... my lappy is getting heated up normally .. but there is no display on the screen (totally black) no flickerings nothing..... not even dell logo showing up at starting....

so i thought display problem and i have tried holding 'D' button while turning on and my LCD has shown the lights and colors(red,green,yellow).... so it is not the problem of my display....

i tried to remove the battery and remove and reinsert the RAM and hard-drive but NO result after doing these things tooo...

what might be the reason for display displaying total black (no back-light too) .... ???

please help me .. thanks in advance

Hi Gopikrishna,

Please connect an external monitor and check if you get a display.

I would suggest you to run the on-board diagnostics:

  • Power off the computer
  • Press and hold the 'Fn' key, while the button is pressed and held, press the power button
  • This should initiate the diagnostics
  • Please refer to the link if any error code shows up http://dell.to/OUGnqT

Please reply if you have any questions.

Hi Gopi,

It seems to be an issue with the motherboard and may requirement a replacement. You can contact the sales team for your region. Here is the link http://dell.to/QjjZDA , type the service tag of the computer to get the contact information.

Here is the manual for Studio 1555 http://bit.ly/14h4UKb
