Dell 5521: Touchscreen STOPS working after 10-15mins.
I purchased a Dell Insp.5521 with 'Touch screen' 3 weeks ago. There is some problem with its touch screen now.
Every time i switch on the laptop the screen's response to touch is quite good but after some time (like 10-15mins) it
STOPS
working(ie. the screen becomes unresponsive to touch).
I've to again restart the system and suddenly screen starts responding to touch, again after 10-15mins, the cycle repeats itself.
Please Help.

Hi Harsh Kumar,
I suggest you to run the touchscreen diagnostics, by visiting the following link:
http://dell.to/We70YO
On the Dell PC Diagnostics page, select Component > Touchscreen > Run Diagnostics.
You will also need to calibrate the touchscreen by following the steps provided below:
Press Windows + R keys > Control Panel > Tablet PC settings > under the Display tab> click on calibrate and check if the touch screen is working.
Please let me know about your findings.

I've already tried both these tools, diagnostic and calibration.
While the screen is working(like right now, immediately after the system is switched on) it passes the diagnostic test else it fails.
Tried the calibration also, nothing helps. Report is OK (or positive) only when the test or calibration is carried out within 10-15 mins immediately after switching on the system.
Called up support team also, they asked me to re install the drivers(AMD and INTEL 4000), I've even downloaded and installed BIOS file(again on recommendation by the support team) but nothing Helps.
Waiting to get a solution.

Hi Harsh Kumar,
Thank you for your reply and for providing an update on the status. I appreciate your efforts to fix the issue and suggest you to re-install the chipset drivers and check if the touchscreen works properly. You can download the chipset driver from the following link by punching in the Service Tag and clicking on the "Drivers & Downloads" tab:
http://dell.to/117d6Zu
You will need to reset the system to factory defaults, if the issue persists after reinstalling the chipset drivers. Please follow the steps provided below:
1. Press and hold the "Shift" key and click on the "Power" icon from the Charms bar and click on "Restart".
2. Windows will restart and load the Advanced Boot Menu.
3. Click on the "Troubleshoot" icon and then On "Dell Backup and Recovery" icon and follow the onscreen instructions.
Please let me know about your findings.

I am also having the same prob... I ve turned touch notifications and was observing the screen so that I can see what exactly happens before screen stops responding to touches..
I observed that there were multiple touch locations (though nothing was touching the screen) shown as multiple gray circles all over the screen just for a fraction of seconds...
Dell support need to sort out this issue... I m not able to get any solution through phone support...
Please respond

I'm also having this problem. Rebooting sorts the issue - leaving the computer locked (but on) for 10 minutes of more results in a screen that doesn't respond to touch.
Just updating bios etc now to see if it makes a difference.
