Dell Inspiron 6000 and games
I will receive my new laptop in 10-14 days......and urgently need advise about gaming.
I want to know if I will be able to still play Age of Kings,Diablo2, Empire Earth, CC Generals, Mediaval Total War on my new laptop. I know some of these are older games but they are my favourite
My specs are as follows:
750 - 1.86Ghz
1024 MB Memory
100 Gb Hard drive
128 MB DDR ATI Radeon X300
WSXGA LCD Screen
9 Cell Battery
2915 Dual Band Wireless
thanks in advance

Cancel the order and re-order, this time a 9300 or XPS system with the nVidia 6800 video card. You will NOT be happy with either video setup in the 6000.

A posting I read before read that a guy can play HL2 without any problems and occassional 1/2 seconf chopiness that he does not even notice.
Sure, the settings are reduced 1020X800 I think.......
The other thing was the hip pocket.....I cant afford upgrading again.....
Any more views?
cheers

I have had the machine for 4 days now and my God, who said it was not a gaming machine.....??
On my machine, and check my details on the first post, all the games run a treat......so much so that it easily compares with my 3.06Ghz P4 and 128meg Ti4800 Nvidea Gforce graphics card.
So far, I can play Total War - Medieval with eaze and no reduced settings, Empire Earth also perfect, Football Manager 2005 perfect........just to name a few.....
No frame choppyness at all...
Bloody glad I got the machine in fact and now with my new Netgeat Rangemax Wireless Router WPN824, I also get around 65 K/Sec on a range of 100 feet inside my house.....what a dream.......
To all who replied, thanks........to all who said that this is not a games machine, I strongly believe you are wrong....
Bottom line.......its a bloody great machine...
cheers
