Dell N5040 System Restore

Hello! I have a problem with my Dell laptop. I got a virus , and i don't even know what did it do. When i start my laptop it loads like it was before( it says big DELL and Inspiron, then progress bar and F2 Setup and F12 Boot options). After that loads i see this thing flashing _ . And then red text comes up and says something like " Your laptop was blocked because bla bla bla" and after that red text this thing _ flashing. Keyboard is blocked, nothing happens when i try to connect USB or my mouse. The only thing i can do on my laptop now is press F2 or F12 while Dell loads, before that red thing.

How do i restore my system, what disks do i use? (Sorry for my English)

You'll get a Windows disc for doing the reinstall.  You'll need to download at least some of the drivers (system software, chipset driver and network driver) and have them ready for after installing Windows.  The process is explained in detail in the link posted above.

Press F8 a few times to get to the system recovery menu.

This needs to be done BEFORE Windows begins to load.

Press F12 and run a full set of the Dell diagnostics.

Seems like a virus destroyed windows and changed it with that stupid thing. There should be a way to change an operating system in BIOS, right?

If the diagnostics found nothing, but the system won't boot even in Safe Mode or allow a system recovery, you've just one choice left:  do a manual install of Windows.

Start with step 3, below.

Is the system asking for a password when you power it on?

No, there is no operating system in BIOS.  There is a boot loader that will let the diagnostics run - even if the hard drive is missing or corrupt.  If you can't get to it, you have a hardware problem - not a software issue.

So is it the disk that will re nstall my system, or just a disk for backing up my data?

If you didn't make the recovery DVDs when you received the system, and you're in the US, see the link below.  If you're outside the US, you'll need to call Dell to order the disc (you can't use the link).
