Dell Studio XPS 1645 | Upgrade to 2x8GB RAM?
I have a Dell Studio XPS 1645, Intel Core 17 Q720 @ 1.60GHz, 64 bit operating system. I run a server for the game minecraft, which have also heavily modded, so it requires a lot of resources to run.
I currently have 6GB of RAM (1x2gb and 1x4gb) and i want to update to 2x8GB for a total of 16, but i keep seeing people who had issues upgrading past 8 on this laptop.
Is it possible to have this laptop efficiently run 16GB of RAM? and if so what steps would i need to take?

Welcome to the community.
I would like to inform you that maximum memory supported on this laptop by us is 8GB. If you wish you can install the 16Gb as well. However, we would not guarantee that it would work on the system or not.
If you wish to upgrade upto 8gb then you can replace the 2Gb module with the 4Gb one. You can purchase the original memory from the link below:
